• I am totally delighted with this book. Having been raised in Inwood, the book brings back a flood of wonderful memories. It also has fascinating historical material, much of which give insight into the places I knew from the late 1940's to the late 1960's. Inwood was a great place to be a kid and grow into adulthood, and this book brings back so much of that. Of course, the book does not have pictures of everything I'd like to see again (e.g., Johnnie's, Nash's, only a tiny picture of the Hi-Ho restaurant where I took a young lady on our first date - and have been married to her for over 50 years), but then there is the great web site, MyInwood.net (by the first author of this book), with additional pictures and lots of great information.
• If you were wondering where Manhattan ends, or where the site of the purchase of Manhattan is then you must buy this book. For those who are curious about whether there are residential houses left in Manhattan, you will get your answer in this book as well.
• I pre-ordered the book and got it recently. I really enjoyed the flow of the pictures. Its motivated me to walk around my neighborhood and spot the different landmarks with my son. Really enjoyed it.
• Just received my copy of Lost Inwood and I was not disappointed. The book is filled with old photos and stories of times past. I really enjoyed taking my time learning about this little-known part of New York City.
• Great pictures and history of Inwood region of northern Manhattan, where I grew up. Enjoyable read.
• This was a wonderfully specific history about an area that has a rich and interesting past, echoes of which are still resounding in the present. Those echoes are nicely visible in many pictures in this book.
